Waite-Smith 塔罗(1909)
The World
The World shows a dancing figure in a wreath, four creatures at the corners. It is the card of completion — the cycle finished, the self made whole.
下列历史牌义引自 A. E. Waite《The Pictorial Key to the Tarot》(1911),用语反映了当时的时代背景;后续章节提供当代反思视角。
正位牌义
Assured success, recompense, voyage, route, emigration, flight, change of place.
逆位牌义
Inertia, fixity, stagnation, permanence.
这张牌在做什么
It represents integration: the part of you that holds all the others at once. It appears at a true ending that is also a fullness. The wreath is closed; the dance is free within it.
文化与传统的读法
In the traditional reading the World is assured success, recompense and voyage. It has long been read as fulfilment and change of place, and by reversal as fixity, stagnation or permanence. The circle completes; the journey becomes the traveller.

常见问题
Is the World the "best" card?
It is the card of fulfilment and integration — a cycle made whole. Favourable, but it points to completion rather than to more striving.
World vs the Sun?
The Sun is joy in the open; the World is the whole journey gathered into one. One is a day, the other is the round completed.
